Nineteen year 1 students visited Hong Kong Christian Service’s Bliss District Elderly Community Centre (BDECC), situated in Kwun Tong Choi Fook Estate, on 4th July 2023. Students learnt the key service contents provided by the center to the older adults and carers living in the community, such as social and recreational activities, exercise and health management, cognitive training, carer training and support, as well daily life support and individualized support for the needy persons.

In this sharing workshop, the social worker also arranged a special volunteering activity for our students to make home visits to 18 elderly people living alone. The students showed their caring and concern by engaging the elderly with friendly chats. There is no better way to learn than to involve our students in making direct contact with those in need.
