2460 PPE: Service Exposure Scheme (Period: January 2025 – July 2025)

Under our strategic planning, we have continued the 20-hour Service Exposure Scheme in this academic year, to cultivate the sense of social responsibility and social participation for our freshmen, by the multi-disciplinary collaborations with various NGOs.

We are so grateful for the generous arrangement and continuous support offered by below NINE collaborative NGOs units, so that our Year 1 students enjoyed a meaningful period through various experiential learning activities and practical services. Last but not the least, thank you so much for the great effort being put by 130 Year 1 students.

Event Name: "試下職Work! 模擬社會體驗活動" Event Date: 12 April 2025	Event Name: 《爸爸帶你去Camping》網絡活動 5.0 Event Date: 17-18 May 2025
All students successfully completed the booth of simulated social experience activities, and conducted an activity review to discuss how to improve and hold the same type of activity next time.	A group of fathers are doing group activities with their children, and they are having a good time.

 

Agency Name: Caritas Integrated Family Service Centre - Shau Kei Wan

Event Name: 同心同樂日嘉年華 Event Date: 1 March 2025	Event Name: Underprivileged Elderly Visit Event Date: 3 July 2025
In this service exposure scheme, we encountered multiple difficulties during a carnival, including user hassles over excessive gifts and disruptions to game rules, knowing that there must be some sudden situations when holding an event, as well as learning how to respond to emergencies. Unlike volunteer elderly visits, we conduct case planning and assessment for users facing unexpected disaster events using the provided framework. We are glad to have this experience so early in year 1!

Event Name : Deliver Zongzi Service Event Date: 18 May 2025	Event Name: Spring Outing Event Date: 5 April 2025
During the event, we delivered zongzi on Sunday. It was a great experience as it is meaningful to share the massage of spreading love to elderly in Wong Tai Sin District but also a memorable festival to remember Qu Yuan for his patriotic feeling a to ancient China. In this service exposure, I have participated in different activities. For example, home visit and deliver zongzi in Dragon Boat Festival. The most memorable one is the spring outing with my service user. We spent time together to make handmade shumai. I also learnt a lot in this service exposure like communicating skills with elderly and arranging outing planning.

Event Name: 終期檢討 Event Date: 20 June 2025	Event Name: 探訪劏房SEN家庭及派發營養餸包 Event Date: 25 June 2025
During this activity, we recalled some interesting memories about what we have done, such as how we got along with the participants, and listening to the experience of each team member. When everyone found out that they had a similar experience, everyone found that it was interesting.	In addition to helping with the SEN children’s studies, we also visited families living in subdivided flats to chat and to give away necessities.

Event Name : 復活杯子小小蛋糕 Event Date: 21 April 2025
During our Service Exposure at The Salvation Army Chuk Yuen Integrated Service, we participated in an Easter cupcake workshop and a Cheung Chau adventure to Cheung Po Tsai Cave. Facing surprises like missing ingredients and ensuring children's safety taught us adaptability, responsibility, and the importance of quick thinking in youth activities.

Event Name: 人物專訪工作坊 Event Date: 10 March 2025	Event Name: 心理靈活性大使培訓 Event Date: 12 February 2025
During the interview workshop, we realized the power of words. Although the questioning skills of journalists and social workers are different, their common goals was to understand the stories behind client words through different interventions. The first day of this ppe started with an introduction for the basic information of drugs and the activities. They also provided some games in order to let us become familiar.

Event Name: 一人婚禮藝術劇場 Event Date: 22 March 2025	Event Name: 甜甜廚房 Event Date: 23 May 2025
The theme of the event was marriage, hoping that participants would marry themselves and accept their own emotions, and at the same time make them reflect on their own attitudes and ways of treating other people. Dessert-making activities allow participants to experience the fun of baking, learn basic dessert-making skills, enjoy the process of working with others, and enhance communication and friendship while tasting the delicious results.

Event Name: 小學領袖日營 Event Date: 8 March 2025
During the primary leadership training camp, we served as helpers and identified our shortcomings in time management and leading debriefing sessions. Some activities were not completed on time, and moments of awkward silence arose, highlighting the need for further learning and meaningful improvement in these essential areas for future events.

Event Name: Cultural Festival Event Date:10 May 2025
After this service exposure, we learned that we need to be active to approach others. As long as you take the first step, regardless of language or racial differences, sincere communication can make you friends. Also, through this event, we learned about the traditions of ethnic minorities, and it brought us closer together. It was a wonderful experience of sharing and connection.
