SW180 PPE: Service Exposure Scheme for 2560 Cohort (Period: November 2025 – June 2026)

We continued the 20-hour Service Exposure Scheme in this academic year, to cultivate the sense of social responsibility and social participation for our freshmen, through the multi-disciplinary collaborations with various NGOs. In this year, our Year 1 students were divided into nine teams in eight NGOs.

We would like to express our gratitude for the generous arrangement and continuous support offered by below EIGHT collaborative NGO units, so that our students enjoyed a meaningful period through various experiential learning activities and practical services. Last but not the least, thank you so much for the great effort being put by our students.

Event Name: Happiness Stone Doll Workshop
Event Date: 21 March, 2026
Event Name: Emotional Support Street Station
Event Date: 28 March 2026
Our Happiness Stone Doll Workshop was a great success! Children used air-dry clay to create stone dolls in different shapes and decorated them with their creativity by using colorful expressions and accessories. Throughout the activity, I noticed that some children demonstrated remarkable creativity and patience, while others required more guidance and encouragement. By adapting my communication approach to suit different needs, I learned how important individualized support can be. This experience enhanced my observation skills and strengthened my ability to engage with children in meaningful ways. Although we initially felt reserved and worried about rejection, interactions with the community gradually opened us up and we started to take the initiative more and more. We observed that residents in the Whampoa area were generally cautious at first but became willing to share once trust was established. Also, we learned the importance of creating a comfortable atmosphere. This experience showed us that effective emotional support is not only about skills, but also about building genuine connections through sincerity and empathy.

We spent meaningful time listening attentively to the challenges and emotions the youths were facing, fostering trust and mutual understanding. On 12th February 2026, we held a cooking activity according to teenagers’ preferences.  The event started at 7:30pm and teenagers were divided into two different teams for making wrapper and filling of Dubai chocolate mochi.  Teenagers actively engage and cooperate in the cooking processes while chatting with each other.  They all enjoyed their finished products and that put a perfect ending to our group’s PPE.
