Social Work Day 2026 Ceremony

A series of meaningful learning activities were organised by Hong Kong Social Workers Association (HKSWA) in celebration of Social Work Day, including a pre‑ceremony Ceramics Workshop held on 24 February 2026 (Tuesday) afternoon by Art@Heart of St. James’ Settlement, and the Social Work Day Ceremony conducted on 17 March 2026 (Tuesday) afternoon at the headquarters of the Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA). A total of 10 HKSYU social work students and 6 social work teachers participated in these activities.

Pre‑ceremony Ceramics Workshop

During the ceramics workshop, social work students were taught ceramic‑making skills by service users with intellectual disabilities. This close‑up experiential learning process enabled participants not only to acquire practical artistic skills, but also to gain first‑hand experience in effective communication and interaction with this service population.

Social work students presented their completed ceramic commemorative items to representatives of various non‑governmental organisations and social service agencies, included visiting Kidsmind of S.K.H. St. Christopher's Home, reinforcing professional values of inclusion, collaboration, and community engagement especial the hard work of frontline social workers.
